In this article Richard Dawkins explains why he works with computers firstable he said that computers are useful because help you to think , brains must in some sense be programmed , and probably using a kind of software tricks , but of course there´s no programmer as in computers, it,s done by natural selections and genes, genes in some way are that program development of brains, he said that in some ways it´s helpful to think about brains as being computers .
He said that philosophically speaking computers are probably deterministic but humans have such complexity that we have the illusion of having free will and can override it.
Richard Dawkins described him as an atheist but not an strident atheist , Dawkins said that people actually maybe even hear stridency when it isn´t there because they´re so used to the idea that religion gets a free pass. Dawkins don´t criticize religion because he said that people got so used to that , that if they hear an even mild and very unstrident criticism of religion , they hear it as strident.
Dawkins thinks that in the case of a divine designer of the universe, the designer is just as complex as the thing to be explained, so that no explanatory advance is made. This objection raises all sorts of questions about the role played by simplicity in assessing competing explanations; for example, how simplicity is to be weighted in comparison with other criteria like explanatory power and so forth.
Dawkins said there´s a distinct possibility that the religious urge is genetic , he said that are religions in all cultures and that seems to be a human universal , but not everyone has it . he said that he prefer to think that there is some psychological predisposition in the human brain which leads it to become religious under right circumstances.
He said that philosophers just explains what living things are, and he thinks the problem may be that the true explanation is so simple , and he thinks nobody got the mains ideas of philosophers until Darwin because it was so simple.
